Moon Secret Candles (MSC) was established in December 2020 by Kerlous, Soliman and Thomas: 3 brothers from Madaba with 70 JD start-up money that was saved from giving private English lessons. The brothers wanted to start a small business to help pay for their studies and become financially independent. The idea for their business came from their love for scented candles. After some research, they found that most candles use paraffin wax (which is unnatural) and metal based wicks which are harmful for people with allergies and especially for those who suffer from asthma (like Soliman)! So MSC focused on 100% natural soy wax candles with natural cotton wicks. The brothers have worked hard to expand the business and now sell a wider variety of candle shapes, scents and sizes. 1. What is your name? Where are you from? How long have you been in Jordan?
We are 3 brothers .. Kerlous (23), Soliman (21) & Thomas (16). We are Egyptians but we were born in Madaba, Jordan.
2. What makes you laugh the most?
We all love it when our little brother Thomas starts telling us jokes! We also laugh when many customers start talking to us as “habibiti” because they immediately think that candle businesses are owned by women so we continue chatting with them without informing them that we are men in order not to embarrass anyone 😂!
3. Who would you want to be stranded with on a deserted island?
We would choose our parents just to complete the gang and enjoy the desert together 💗
4. What is your favorite childhood memory?
I believe that our most favorite memory was when we used to travel to Egypt every couple of years to meet our relatives and cousins.
5. What motivates you to work hard?
The feeling of satisfaction that comes after accomplishing something is always the best motivation to keep us doing what we’re doing and a bar of chocolate every now and then is the best motivation 😉💗🍫
6. What is your favorite game or sport to watch and play?
We all love watching our national football team and we love to roller- skate during the summer holidays 🛼🛼
